my day off

After 7 weeks at The Arts House, I finally took my time off yesterday.
And instead of vegetating in the comfort of my wonky bed, I choose to spend the day straining my already very small cornflake-sized eyes.

I crashed 4 episodes of Burning Flame 3 within morning and then off i went for 2 movies back-to-back, Public Enemies and the premiere of Overheard (I heart ah neal!) -grins-
Johnny Depp is smoltering hot.
Louis Koo, Daniel Wu was a fantastic feast for my eyes.
I would have die cross-eyed after watching so much drama a happy girl if not for this 2 Non-chinese lovebirds seated right beside me throughout the painful 2 hours.
Even with all the actions and gun-slinging, they still managed to distract me.

Look, I'm not trying to be some scornful spinster here BUT BUT BUT seriously, leave your honey sugar coated cooing sessions to your private apartment and stop the hanky-panky sessions!

YOU ARE DISTURBING ME GOING GAGA OVER JOHNNY DEPP!

On other days, I would have love to be a snitch and sneak a peek at such R21 actions but when it comes to watching charasmatic thespians like Johnny Depp on the big screen which i paid $6 for and free R21 local action.....
I'll murder you if you disturb me.
I am irascible, cranky, rancorous, spiteful when anyone tries to come between me and my on-screen romance.

So leave me alone with Johnny Depp.
I dont want to know how cold your girlfriend is.
Neither do I want to know where you are going for dinner.
You are my #1 Public Enemy now, you love-sick lovebirds!
BANG! BANG! BANG!

And then I went Down

I'm the only one left in Singapore
While these 2 blood brothers are enjoying school in Sydney.
Sigh.

The reason why I havent been alive on the world wide web lately is because of something that happened last Thursday. A little secret wish of mine since my secondary schooling days came true.
Like how much I wanted to be sick so that I could skip school or that I could be like Shan Cai of Meteor Garden, getting hit on the head by a ball and then falling into the arms of a handsome guy...

Well, I did fell on someone.
Not a hunk but a chio bu.
I fell on Dawn.
Because...I fainted at work.
-embarrassed-

I was meeting a exhibition client with Dawn when I suddenly felt this acute pain in my stomach. It then went on to nausea and suddenly I was having blurred vision. It couldnt be my contacts because I paid $120 for it, I'll murder my optician if it was. So in order not to scare the client, I tried to tell Dawn that I wanted to be excused...but right after, I went down.

Meet my "heartless" colleagues all decked out in green

My heartless colleagues at The Arts House couldn't believe I fainted okay. -folds arms-
Cheryl was like, "Huh! But I bought her cake for tea break liao!"
Martini thought I was tricking them and continued her love affair with her Outlook.
NO ONE THOUGHT I WAS FOR REAL.
not even myself.

They only believed that their resident noise machine had no battery life after Dawn and Caiwen started to pack my stuff and arranged to send me to the clinic.

And clinic I did go.
The lao bans sent me there.
Raffles Medical Hospital somemore.
The bill was a bloody $145 and a jab at my right buttcheek.

The Answer Is....You

Every able-bodied hot-blooded man will always prefer S.H.E. to Mayday, Jolin to Jay and Megan Fox to Hugh Grant. If you asked me who is my favourite singer, I will have to crack my head to choose one among the many that has got a place in my heart. But still at the end of the day, I can at least give you 3 names. But if you asked me who is my favourite female singer, I would need to meditate on it for 3 centuries in self-reclusion at some temple and I might not even give you an answer. Simply because, there is no particular female singer whose album I would faithfully pursue and karaoke to.

Yes, and this point further affirms the fact that I am not a lesbian.
Because i love men.
-laughs-

But that Saturday night, I think i found my first favourite female singer.

All hail Stefanie Sun.

Pictures courtesy of Unusual Productions and cruzteng.com
Her showmanship that night was awesome, and electrcifying at the same time.
I don't know if any of those around me knew but there were more than one occasion when her haunting vocals pricked my emotions so tenderly that I let a tear roll down my cheek.

Perhaps i've aged and with the many things that I've been through these few years...
I actually felt a connection to the songs that she sung and I felt her heart as she sang "My Love 我的爱" and "Same Species 同类". But what struck me most was her cover of Billy Joel's "And So It Goes"

In every heart, there is a room
A sanctuary safe and strong

To heal the wounds from lovers past

Until a new one comes along.

As she sang those words, I think her eyes spoke of her raw emotions to this new man in her life.
Stefanie has morphed from the local girl next door to a global sensation and now a mature woman, past her popstar prime but comfortable in her own skin and finally a confident commander of her own stage with Cupid shining down on her.

I went from 需要你 to knowing that 不是真的爱我 to 我怀念的 to 雨天 to 我的爱 to 我不难过 to reaching nirvana with 安宁 and now i'm searching for my 同类.

Lao niang

Seen before PURPLE chilli?! Grown on Singapore soil, right at The Arts House.

Work at The Arts House is slowly piling up and it helps that the environment is very relaxed and the bosses do not put too much restrictions on us. If not how else do you think I could go all the way to Liang Court and buy Tampopo's cream puff for my fellow colleagues? HAHA.
These cream puffs were hard-fought okay. I had to cajole the chef to give me 6 puffs out of the 18 they baked PER HOUR. -victorious handsign-

Yes, Annabel will do anything for Tampopo's puffs. Next up, Raisin cream bun from Barcook Bakery at Central. -smacks lips-

So it has been a slew of events and dinners that peppered my otherwise mundane life. It's funny how time flies at lightning speed because I can't believe it's July and soon, very soon, my gap year will end and i die also have to decide which school and course I should go. Although there have been offers, I need to be focused and not be swayed at the prospect of not getting degree but earning money to fulfill my shopping sprees and perhaps join the queue of Louis Vuitton before I am old and haggard.

Those at NTU, NUS, SMU, SIM, SMa, UniSyd, Melbourne Uni, UNSW and wherever else, do me a favour, check out the hotties in your school. I base my entrance on the number of hotties capped at each school. -winks-
