Blood Diamond

I watched 3 movies in a row last week.
Monday was Confession of Pain, Friday was One Last Dance and Saturday was Blood Diamond. all 3 are damn good~ definite recommendation. Though One Last Dance was superb but i think i need to watch it again to like fully comprehend the storyline and stuff. The editing was good and man, i never knew Singapore could looked that artsy-fartsy good on still film. One Last Dance, anyone? -hopeful-


Blood Diamond, in my own words is a MUST-WATCH. it brought tears to my eyes when i saw massive and evil jewellery is. Diamond is a girl's best friend, but i wonder, how many of us actually know what went through behind the diggings of diamond.

Leo Dicarpio shed off his baby fats and fluffy image(Titanic was a commercial hit but how credible was "You Jump, I Jump" is?) in recent years to earn himself a credible movie portfolio. i loved him in The Departed and i loved him even more in Blood Diamond. T.I.A, This Is Africa.

I am thankful that i am born in Singapore, born a Singaporean.

I simply cannot wait for 5 Feb 2007, 5.01 pm.
this signifies my entry to freedom, for 2 1/2 months, where i need not crack my brains over words to describe my thoughts and frequent visits to NLB.
but oh wells, talk is cheap.
i STILL incompleted assignments waving at me, trying to get my attention.

i am such a good procrastinator. if there is a award for procrastination, i bet i'll be in the top few running for it..which isnt really a compliment but yea.

but anyways, went off with dinner just now at Holland V with gab, ben, says, keelin, jimmy, huimun, huiqi, eunice, chow and me. Was uber funny and i waited for them for eons. it a super crappy and high evening of merry-making with 'em at the zi char place and also at Essential Brew. Cam-whoring and friendly jibbings were top on the list. i was super drained put when i met them but after awhile i was on HIGH mode.

yao's msg about the deadline of my drama script being pushed to NEXT sat totally made me squeal in delight! =) i guess God saw how "ke-lian" we all were rushing one assignment after one essay after one presentation.
LIFE IS ONE MAD RUSH until feb 05. wheee!

Confessions of Pain

this is for twit my godson : though i doubt he'll ever see this. haha

thanks for being the bestest loveliest chummiest buddy i ever had in my life. going to miss ya lotsa and looking forward to your return again..hopefully this time we can spend the ENTIRE day bitching anf yakking and laughing at one another! it's always comforting to know that i'm greatly blessed by God to have a friend (friend is such an understatement laa..) like you by my side - newtown days and post newtown days. thanks for all the care n love, twit!

I'm having recurring nightmares about 2008 - where all my teaching track friends are going off to Zhejiang as the first batch. all the teary goodbyes and huggings. man, it seems so surreal la. i mean yea, i do know that we are not going to be like separated forever but 6 months. 6 months can change a whole lot of darn things. even a short 2 weeks break can bring about changes in people that are not-so-nice or nice. but then again, one should always look at herself before saying others. i may be the problematic one here.

Scooted off to Cine to meet Marc after our Podcast meeting. That uncle was laaate la. Managed to get tickets for "Confessions of Pain - Shang Cheng" at 2120. The show was GOOOD. Other than the fact that Tony Leung was the murderer was revealed at the middle of the show, the cinematography, music and acting was all Golden Horse-worthy. I say, the collaboration between Andrew Lau and Alan Mak is like a match made in heaven.

Next up: One Last Dance - Cha Wu. Francis Ng is da man! =)

I always liked watching movies. i guess it is the idea of escapism from reality that enthralls me so often, albeit it being only a mere an hour and a half, at most three hours. Is life really that demanding or am i asking too much from life itself? this is a riddle that will probably bug me for the next remaining years of my life...-strokes chin-

I realised that the phrase "time flies" is very apt on my life.
Somehow, 2006 came and left in a whim.
All of a sudden, i felt stranded in 2007.
And it is not helping that i am turning 19 in like 3 months.
bleah

i shall not be bothered by the fact that i have like EIGHT irritating assignments to hand in by Feb 01.
i shall not be bothered by the fact that my days are night and night are days.
i shall not be bothered by all the festering issues in school.
i shall not be bothered by all annoyance.

2007 resolutions? : i wanna be a better friend, a better sister and a better daughter. or rather, my ultimate resolution for 2007 is...WORLD PEACE. and no, the hanging of Saddam Hussein is not going to be like the antidote to all problems. UGH.
